About us
Meet the Growers!
Hi, I’m Ruth and I run Pencae Veg near Church Bay on Ynys Mon, which is a small market garden supplying 25 local households with freshly harvested salads, greens, seasonal veg and flowers, all grown naturally and ecologically without chemical sprays and using a no-dig method.
The Blodau Blooms flowers and foliage grow all around the edges of the garden and have slowly crept into some of the veg beds, including one precious bed inside the polytunnel, which provides earlier flowers and longer stems.
Before moving to Anglesey 4 years ago to be closer to family I worked as a gardener for 10 years while producing organic salad and supporting the local food and sustainability movement.
My sister Emma and her family have a beautiful garden near Benllech featuring a stunning collection of daffodils in Spring, unusual mature shrubs including lots of hydrangeas, as well as perennials. The garden is managed very much with wildlife in mind.
We’re proud members of the Landworkers Alliance as well as the association Flowers from the Farm, championing artisan growers of seasonal, scented, locally grown British cut flowers.
